Football’s Jonathan Raines Picks Up MTC Scholar-Athlete Award

MACON, Ga. – Senior Jonathan Raines was awarded one of four Macon Touchdown Club Scholar-Athlete Scholarships this past Monday night, March 23, at the annual Jamboree.

Raines was recognized for his superior academic performance, community service, leadership, and on-field athletic performance as a two-way starter for the Viking football team.

“Jonathan has become a shining example of what it looks like to excel in the classroom, in the community, and on the field,” FPD head coach Greg Moore said. “I am so proud of him, and very thankful that the TD Club chose to recognize him for all of his exemplary work.”

Raines’ award comes in the form of a $1500 gift towards tuition next fall when he enrolls as a college freshman.

He is still weighing out his options on where to attend college.

The First Presbyterian Day School Department of Athletics strives to build the student athlete both in the playing arena and the classroom while upholding the school’s mission statement to educate and equip students to change the world for God’s glory.
