Girls and Boys Tennis Take Down Tattnall Trojans at John Drew

MACON, Ga. – The FPD varsity girls and boys tennis teams picked up wins on Monday afternoon, March 9, defeating the Tattnall Square Academy Trojans in Area-1 action at the John Drew Tennis Center.

In the girls match, the Lady Vikings (10-0) kept their unbeaten streak alive by claiming a 5-0 victory over the Lady Trojans.

FPD’s singles trio finished with three wins on the day: Brianna Flemming (6-4, 3-6, 13-11), Mary Madison Foshee (6-2, 6-1) and Maggie Moody (6-1, 6-3).

The Lady Vikings also picked up two doubles wins from Summer Sanders/Sydney Reese (6-0, 6-0) and Anna Matthews/Katlyn Smaha (6-1, 6-3).

In the boys match, the Vikings (5-5) ran away with a 4-1 victory to even their season record at .500.

FPD’s Josh Wilson snagged a singles win over Turner Gillis (6-0, 6-0).

The Viking doubles squad of Noah Groover/Bryce Little finished with a triumph over Earls/Whitesides (6-1, 7-5) and Will Kennedy/Malcolm Mancin took down Whiddon/Bennett (7-6, 6-2).

Both tennis teams are back to work quickly, hosting the Brookstone Cougars in an Area-1 Match on Tuesday, March 10 at 4 p.m. at the John Drew Tennis Center.
