Boys Golf Downs Tattnall Square 156-183

MACON, Ga. – The FPD varsity boys golf team shot a 12-over-par 153 to defeat the Tattnall Square Academy Trojans (186) at Healy Point Country Club on Wednesday afternoon, April 22 in a 9-hole match.

“Our guys keep competing,” FPD head coach Charley Chase said. “We are trying to stay sharp before we head into the GHSA Sectionals in the next couple of weeks.”

Senior Brantley Wilson led the Viking charge on the links, posting a 1-over 37.

Freshman Wilson Andress was next, signing his scorecard at a 2-over 38.

Rounding out FPD’s top scores from the day was Wesley Hanson (+4, 40) and Charles Stroud (+5, 41).

“I really like the mental approach our guys bring each day to the course,” Chase said. “They are always wanting to compete and get better each time they tee it up.”

The Vikings return to action on Thursday, April 23 when traveling to Strong Rock for a 9-hole match at Eagles Brook at 4 p.m.
