Boys Soccer Shuts Out Tattnall 8-0 on Senior Night

MACON, Ga. – The FPD varsity boys soccer team (10-6-2) ended the regular season in style on Tuesday night, April 21, knocking off the Tattnall Square Academy Trojans 8-0 on Senior Night at the FPD Soccer Complex.

“It’s always nice to win your Senior Night match,” FPD head coach Josh Trieste said. “It gives our seniors something they can always look back on and remember.”

FPD took the match with ease.

Up 2-0 at halftime after goals from Dane Wiggins and Kevin Griggs, the Vikings powered in six more scores to ensure the victory.

“We got on a roll in the second period and our guys were hungry for a win after dropping our match at Apalachee on Saturday,” Trieste. “As a coach, it’s good to see your team respond like they did tonight.”

Wiggins, Griggs and Robert Johnson each finished with two goals on the night. Micah Creamer and Luke Thomas also netted a goal for the Vikings.

FPD keepers Dontrez Johnson and Wade Snow earned one save each in the win.

The Vikings outshot the Trojans 24-4.

FPD will now await for the release of the GHSA Class-A State Tournament bracket later this week to learn of its first round opponent.
