Boys Golf Closes out 2015 with Fifth Place Finish at Sectionals

LOCUST GROVE, Ga. – The FPD varsity boys golf team finished in fifth place at the GHSA Class-A Sectional round at Crystal Lakes on Monday, May 4, shooting a team score 310 (+22).

The fifth place mark brings an end to the 2015 season as only the top four teams advanced to state.

“I’m proud of the guys for their work this season,” FPD head coach Charley Chase said. “We worked hard all year and honored the Lord in everything we did. We are excited about what’s ahead for FPD golf.”

Charles Stroud finished with a team-best 72 (E) on the day while Wilson Andress signed his scorecard at 77 (+5).

Chris Adams shot his lowest round of the year with an 80 (+8) while Wesley Hanson finished with an 81 (+9).

“We have a lot of young guys on our team and I’m hoping that they’ll use the summer ahead to really work on their game,” Chase said.

FPD graduates its lone senior in Brantley Wilson.

“Brantley had a great senior year,” Chase said. “We’ll certainly miss him next year and wish him well.”

The FPD Athletic Department sincerely thanks Wilson for his hard work and dedication to the FPD golf program.
