Worsham Tosses No-No as Lady Vikings Blast Warner Robins 10-0

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. – Senior Peyton Worsham can add another no-hitter to her resume as a Lady Viking.

The righty no-hit the Warner Robins High School Lady Demons on Wednesday night en route to a Lady Viking 10-0 win in five innings.

Her last no-hitter came less than a year ago on August 26, 2014 when FPD (3-1) run-ruled the Wilkinson County Lady Warriors 10-0.

This time it was the Lady Demons (2-3) serving as Worsham’s target. She tossed five innings while striking out six batters along the way.

“She was superb tonight,” FPD head coach Jim Turner said. “She had great command and great confidence from her defense behind her.”

Of course, scoring 10 runs helps too.

The Lady Vikings jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning and added six in the final two innings for the run-ruling victory.

Caylee Ann Sutton, Carli Sutton and Katie Culver each picked up an RBI at the dish for the Lady Vikings.

“I just knew where to locate,” Worsham said. “I had a good defense behind me and I was hitting my spots. When that happens, it’s a pretty simple process. My teammates are great, so we just took care of business.”

Worsham’s no-hitter is the eighth in FPD fast-pitch history, the last two before tonight coming from Worsham and Carli Sutton

Sutton pitched a no-hitter on August 22, 2013 in a 8-0 victory over Crawford County on August 21, 2013.

The Lady Vikings return to action on Thursday, August 20, opening GHSA Class-A Region-7 play at Mt. de Sales. First pitch is scheduled for 5:55 p.m. at Cavalier Fields.
