Football Down to No. 14 in Third GHSA Class-A Private Power Ratings for 2015

THOMASTON, Ga. – The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) released the third edition of the Class-A Private Football Power Ratings on Tuesday, Sept. 22 with the Vikings (2-1) grabbing a spot at no. 14 overall.

The rating is down four spots according to the Sept. 15 polls a week ago for FPD>

The ratings are used to determine the Top-16 teams from Class-A Public and Private. At season’s end, those teams advance to the GHSA State Playoffs.

FPD ranks in with 10.83 points after claiming a 56-21 win GMC Prep at home on Sept. 18.

The Vikings return to play on Friday, Sept. 25, welcoming the Lincoln County Red Devils (4-0) to Austin Childers Field at George S. Johnson Stadium.

Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.

FPD is 0-3 all-time against Lincoln County, falling 10-0 in Lincolnton, Ga. in 2014.

Friday’s contest is also the final Viking Fanfare of the 2015 season and Viking Football League Night.

The school will also honor the 1974 varsity football team, the only undefeated squad in program history, in a special pre-game ceremony at 7 p.m.
