Football Moves Up One to No. 10 in Second GHSA Class-A Private Power Ratings

THOMASTON, Ga. – The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) released the second edition of the Class-A Private Football Power Ratings on Tuesday, Sept. 15 with the Vikings (1-1) grabbing a spot at no. 10 overall.

The ratings are used to determine the Top-16 teams from Class-A Public and Private. At season’s end, those teams advance to the GHSA State Playoffs.

FPD, who moved up one spot from last week’s rating, ranks in with 11.25 points after claiming a 21-0 shutout victory over AA-Monticello on Sept. 11.

The Vikings return to play on Friday, Sept. 18 for their 2015 Home Opener, welcoming the GMC Prep Bulldogs (1-2) to Austin Childers Field at George S. Johnson Stadium.

Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.

FPD last faced GMC Prep in 2014 in the Region-7 Crossover Game, claiming a 31-7 victory in Milledgeville, Ga. at Davenport Field.

Friday’s game has also been deemed “Heroes Night.”, with plenty of pre-game activities for fans to stay involved. (Click the link to read more.)
