Jones, Kizer Named Practice Players of the Week for Week 1 of FPD Football

MACON, Ga. – FPD head football coach Greg Moore announced today, Sept. 2, that sophomores Ryan Jones and Blaine Kizer have been named FPD Football’s “Practice Players of the Week” for Week 1 of the regular season for the week ending August 29.

The award, given weekly by the FPD football coaching staff, is the first of 2015 and acknowledges players who exhibit hard work, teamwork and attention to practice details.

“We have a lot of guys working hard and getting better, but Ryan and Blaine really stood out for their efforts this past week,” Moore said.

Moore also said this won’t be the first time the award will be given this season. New players will be announced every Wednesday of the 2015 campaign.

“We’re trying really hard to acknowledge the efforts that are extraordinary at practice,” Moore said. “The best football teams get better every single day, and that only happens when guys are getting after it and making the whole team better by the way they go about practice. Ryan and Blaine have done that and I’m proud of their work.”

Both players were rewarded with a special lunch on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 2.
