Softball Drops One Spot to No. 3 in Second GHSA Power Ratings of 2015

THOMASTON, Ga. – The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) released the second edition of the Class-A Softball Private Power Ratings on Tuesday, Sept. 15 with the FPD Lady Vikings ranking in at third overall in the polls.

The ratings are used to determine the Top-16 teams from Class-A Public and Private. At season’s end, those teams advance to the GHSA State Tournament.

The Lady Vikings (13-4, 5-1 Reg. 7) ranked in at 10.85, less than one point behind no. 1 Stratford Academy (11.33) and no. 2 Tattnall Square (11.18). Placing fourth overall is Brookstone at 10.67 while ELCA rounds out the Top-5 at 9.62.

The Lady Vikings, winners of four straight, return to the diamond on Thursday, Sept. 17, traveling to Stratford Academy for a Region-7 contest at 7 p.m.

FPD is also back in action next Tuesday, Sept. 22 at Tattnall Square Academy at 5:55 p.m. in another Region-7 game.

The Lady Vikings defeated Stratford 7-6 on Aug. 27 and dropped to Tattnall 3-2 on Sept. 3 at the FPD Softball Complex.
