Softball No. 2 in First GHSA Class-A Power Ratings of 2015

THOMASTON, Ga. – The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) released the first edition of the Class-A Softball Private Power Ratings on Tuesday, Sept. 8 with the FPD Lady Vikings ranking in at second overall in the polls.

The ratings are used to determine the Top-16 teams from Class-A Public and Private. At season’s end, those teams advance to the GHSA State Tournament.

The Lady Vikings (9-3, 3-1 Reg. 7) ranked in at 10.03, just 0.48 points behind no. 1 Stratford Academy. Placing third overall is Tattnall Square Academy at 9.91 followed by Brookstone High School at 9.42.

The Lady Vikings return to the diamond three times this week, first traveling to Crawford County on Sept. 8 for a non-region game at 5 p.m. followed by a home contest on Wednesday, Sept. 9 vs. Veterans High School at 5:5 p.m.

On Thursday, Sept. 10, the Lady Vikings return to Region-7 play, hosting the Mount de Sales Lady Cavaliers at the FPD Softball Complex at 5:55 p.m.

FPD could play a fourth game of the week on Friday vs. Pike County at home, but it will likely be moved to another date. Check for updates.
