Softball Stays Put at No. 3 in Third GHSA Class-A Private Power Ratings for 2015

THOMASTON, Ga. – The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) released the third edition of the Class-A Softball Private Power Ratings on Tuesday, Sept. 22 with the FPD Lady Vikings ranking in at third overall in the polls.

This week marks the second consecutive week FPD has been no. 3 overall.

The ratings are used to determine the Top-16 teams from Class-A Public and Private. At season’s end, those teams advance to the GHSA State Tournament.

The Lady Vikings (14-4, 6-1 Reg. 7) ranked in at 11.89, just over one point behind no. 1 Brookstone (13.18) and no. 2 Tattnall Square (13.17). Placing fourth overall is Stratford at 11.78 while ELCA rounds out the Top-5 at 10.78

The Lady Vikings, winners of five straight, return to the diamond on Tuesday, Sept. 22, traveling to Tattnall Sqaure for a key Region-7 game at 5:55 p.m.

FPD is also back in action Wednesday, Sept. 23 at Crawford County at 5 p.m. followed by a home game on Thursday at 5:55 p.m. vs. Pike County.

Tattnall bested FPD 3-2 back on Sept. 3 at the FPD Softball Complex.
