Softball Still Ranked at No. 3 in Fourth GHSA Class-A Private Power Ratings

THOMASTON, Ga. – The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) released the fourth edition of the Class-A Softball Private Power Ratings on Tuesday, Sept. 29 with the FPD Lady Vikings ranking in at third overall in the polls.

This week marks the third consecutive week FPD has been no. 3 overall.

The ratings are used to determine the Top-16 teams from Class-A Public and Private. At season’s end, those teams advance to the GHSA State Tournament.

The Lady Vikings (17-5, 6-2 Reg. 7) ranked in at 13.38, just over one point behind no. 1 Tattnall Sqaure (14.57) and no. 2 Brookstone (13.77). Placing fourth overall is Stratford at 12.63 while ELCA rounds out the Top-5 at 10.99.

The Lady Vikings, winners of three straight, return to the diamond on Tuesday, Sept. 29. traveling to AAA-Rutland High School for a non-region contest at 5 p.m.

FPD defeated Rutland 10-4 back on Aug. 8 at the FPD Softball Complex to begin its 2015 campaign.
