ATLANTA – The Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC) released is All-State Football Team for Class-A this week and the FPD Athletic Department is proud to announce that senior punter Daniel Weaver has been selected to the AJC All-State First Team.

“What a tremendous acknowledgement for Daniel and the senior season he put together for our football team.” FPD head coach Greg Moore said. “He had many roles and to be recognized by the AJC as All-State is truly special.”

In 11 games, Weaver booted 31 punts for a whopping 1,305 yards. His golden toe averaged 42.1 yards per punt with his longest of the year sailing 64 yards.

“To be honest, it was a team effort,” Weaver said. “Everything has to go right for me to get that ball off and I had guys who were willing to stand in front of me to help me do it.”

“I’m honored and just really excited,” Weaver added.”

Moore echoed the same words Weaver mentioned about how the accolade reflects positively on the team.

“Our team celebrates this award with Daniel,” Moore said. “It’s a great honor and we’re proud of his achievements.”
