Senior QB Will McCormick Chosen as Macon Touchdown Club Scholar-Athlete

MACON, Ga. – Senior quarterback Will McCormick racked up another award to his already impressive career as a Viking.

On Monday night, Feb. 22, McCormick was named one of four Macon Touchdown Club Scholar-Athletes of the Year at the year-end jamboree.

McCormick, a three year starter for the Vikings, was awarded a monetary scholarship by the club for his stellar work on the field, in the classroom and in the community.

“What a great honor for Will,” FPD head coach Greg Moore said. “He’s been a true leader and an exemplary model of what a captain is supposed to be for his team.”

The jamboree featured University of Georgia Head Coach Kirby Smart as the keynote speaker. Nearly 600 folks were in attendance at the Methodist Children’s Home.

McCormick’s scholarship will be applied toward tuition and fees at the university he decides to attend in the coming months.

His academic numbers speak for themselves: a 4.0 GPA throughout his high school career, a 1320 on the SAT and will graduate “Honors with Distinction” in May.
