Boys Soccer Drops Area-2 Match at St. Anne Pacelli 3-1

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The FPD varsity boys soccer team (2-2-2, 0-1 Area-2) fell to St. Anne Pacelli 3-1 on the road Wednesday night to open Area-2 play.

The loss is the second straight for FPD, who dropped a 3-1 decision to Veterans on March 2. Overall in the past two games, the Vikings have been outscored 6-2.

Pacelli struck first in the first period on a goal by Johnny Jenkins to lead 1-0 at halftime.

In the second half, Pacelli outscored the Vikings 2-1, with two scores coming from T.J. Thick and Manuel Duran. FPD’s lone goal came via the foot of Spencer Ennis.

The Vikings held the shot advantage on the night at 17-16. FPD keeper Dontrez Johnson also nabbed seven saves. Pacelli goalie totaled six.

FPD returns to Area-2 play quickly, hosting the Mount de Sales Academy Cavaliers on Friday night, March 11.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at the FPD Soccer Complex.
