Girls Soccer Shuts Out St. Anne Pacelli 3-0 in Area-2 Road Win

COLUMBUS, Ga. – It took an entire half until the FPD Lady Viking offense got going.

But indeed, the Lady Vikings (4-0-1, 1-0 Area-2) struck when it mattered most, scoring three goals in the second period to claim a 3-0 shutout victory over St. Anne Pacelli in Area-2 play on Wednesday night, March 9.

After a scoreless first half, the Lady Vikings scored all three goals with 28 minutes left in the match.

The first came from Elizabeth Nelson with 28 minutes to play in the match.

Six minutes later, Karsten Herron got in on the scoring, netting a goal for a 2-0 Lady Viking advantage.

Emma Lako scored the final goal of the contest for FPD to seal the win.

FPD controlled the possessions offensively for much of the match. The Lady Vikings out-shot Pacelli 25-3 on the night.

Lady Vikings goalie Caylee Ann Sutton picked up two saves in the winning effort while Pacelli’s Rita deRojas totaled eight.

The Lady Vikings return to action for another Area-2 match on Friday night, March 11 against the Mount de Sales Lady Cavaliers.

Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. at the FPD Soccer Complex.
