Girls and Boys Soccer Sweep Tattnall Square 8-0, 4-0

MACON, Ga. – The FPD varsity girls and boys soccer team were on the pitch Thursday night in Area-2 play, taking on the Tattnall Square Academy Lady Trojans at Trojans on the road.

In the girls contest, the Lady Vikings (8-0-3, 3-0 Area-2) picked up an impressive 8-0 shutout over the Lady Trojans.

Emma Lako  and Jansyn Samples led the charge with two goals each while Kate Patterson, Maggie Johnston, Elizabeth Nelson and Sadie Frame each netting a goal as well.

The Lady Vikings also totaled seven assists in the match, led by the three dimes from Patterson. Nelson was credited with two assists and Frame and Samples each had one.

FPD took 22 shots in the match and keeper Harrison Martin picked up one save.

In the guys contest, the Vikings (7-4-2, 2-2 Area-2) finished out the night in style with a 4-0 shutout of the Trojans.

The Vikings led 2-0 at halftime with goals from Henry Middlebrooks and Dane Wiggins.

In the second period, FPD added two more scores, one more from Wiggins and another from Spencer Ennis on an assist from Alex Newberry for a 4-0 lead.

Tyler Shultz also picked up an assist for FPD. Dontrez Johnson finished with two saves and Josh Raines picked up one in the winning effort.

Both squads return to action on Tuesday, April 12, hosting Westminster at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. at the FPD Soccer Complex.
