Softball Game vs. Northside Called Due to Inclement Weather

MACON, Ga. – Tuesday’s FPD varsity softball game vs. Northside got two innings in before a weather delay forced the cancellation of the contest.

The Lady Vikings scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 4-0 lead.

In the top of the second, the Lady Eagles answered with three runs to pull within one at 4-3.

Lightening was then detected within 10 miles of the stadium.

After 45 minutes had passed, heavy rain showers poured over the FPD Softball Complex, causing the field to be deemed unplayable, thus forcing the cancellation.

No date has been set for a make-up between FPD and Northside.

The Lady Vikings (6-2) return to action Thursday, August 25, traveling to Veterans High School for a non-region contest at 5:55 p.m.
