Volleyball Picks Up Two Wins at Upson-Lee

THOMASTON, Ga. – The FPD varsity volleyball team (7-4) picked up two road wins on Tuesday night, knocking off the host Upson-Lee Lady Knights 2-0 [25-15/25-18] before grabbing another 2-0 victory [25-14/25-6] over the Griffin High School Lady Bears.

In FPD’s match against Upson-Lee, Lundy Lader paced the scoring attack, totaling 10 of FPD’s 32 kills. Caitlin Farr and Sophie Seneker also recorded five kills each in the win.

The Lady Vikings also gained possession of the ball nicely in the match, finishing with seven digs.

Morgan Mullis tallied four digs while Mackenzie Johnsin finished with three.

FPD tallied five blocks in the match as well, with Kirsten Beach and Farr recording two each.

In the nightcap, the Lady Vikings had no trouble putting away the Lady Bears in two sets (25-14/25-6).

FPD finished with 17 kills, led by the five of Emily Cox. Beach and Farr netted three as well.

Farr was on fire with the service, garnering seven of FPD’s 14 aces.

FPD is back in action on Thursday, Sept. 1, hosting Tattnall Square Academy and Putnam County at the Middlebrooks Athletic Center.

The opening serve is scheduled for 5 p.m.
