Volleyball Splits on the Road with Strong Rock and Hampton

LOCUST GROVE, Ga. – The FPD varsity volleyball team (15-10) split on the road on Thursday night, defeating the host Strong Rock Lady Patriots 2-1 before falling to Hampton High School 1-2 in the nightcap.

In FPD’s match against Strong Rock, the Lady Vikings prevailed in three sets.

After dropping the first set 19-24, FPD rattled off two set wins (25-21, 25-21) for the come-from-behind victory.

Caitlin Farr totaled five aces and Anna Massey added three for the Lady Vikings, who finished with 14 aces in the match.

Molly Lee, Lundy Lader and Bailey Ruble netted four kills each while Mackenzie Johnson finished with three.

FPD totaled three blocks in the match, one apiece from Emmie Cate Powell, Farr and Lee.

In the second match of the night against Hampton, the Lady Vikings opened up with a 25-17 win in the first set but dropped the final two sets 23-25 and 24-26.

Sophie Seneker led the team with four aces, Johnson with nine kills and Farr with three blocks.

The Lady Vikings return to the court on Monday, Sept. 19 traveling to West Laurens High School for a double-header against Dutchtown and West Laurens beginning at 5 p.m. in Dexter, Ga.
