Celebration Ceremony for Softball State Championship Set for Thursday, Nov. 3

MACON, Ga. – The FPD varsity softball team claimed the 2016 GHSA Class-A Private State Championship with a 5-3 victory over Wesleyan on Saturday, Oct. 29, at the South Commons Softball Complex in Columbus, Ga.

The Lady Vikings will celebrate their accomplishment with the faculty, staff, student body, family and friends at a special celebration ceremony on Thursday morning, Nov. 3 in the Middlebrooks Athletic Center.

The news was announced by the FPD Athletic Department on Monday morning, Oct. 31.

The celebration will begin at 9:55 a.m.

The state title is the first for the FPD Fastpitch program since 2007, when FPD was still in the GISA.

The 2016 State Championship is the first in the program’s GHSA era.
