Softball to Host 2016 GHSA Class-A Region 7 Tournament

MACON, Ga. – The FPD softball program and head coach Kristy Alvarez are pleased to announce that the Lady Vikings will host the GHSA Class-A Region-7 Softball Tournament, scheduled for Monday, Oct. 3 and Wednesday-Thursday, Oct. 5-6 at the FPD Softball Complex.

After winning the western division of Region-7, FPD, the no. 1 seed, will take on the no. 4 seed from the eastern division in the Lincoln County High School Lady Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon.

Game two of the day will feature Glascock County, no. 2 from the east, against Stratford Academy, no. 3 from the west, at 6:30 p.m.

GMC Prep in Milledgeville, Ga. will host the other side of the tournament on Monday in first round action.

The Lady Bulldogs, no. 1 in the east, will host the Mount de  Sales Lady Cavaliers, the no. 4 seed from the west. Tattnall Square, the no. 2 seed from the west, will play against Washington Wilkes, the no. 3 seed from the east.

As long as the Lady Vikings win, FPD will host through the championship round at home.

Admission is $5 for first grade and up each day of the tournament. Only GHSA coaching passes and valid media credentials will be allowed for free entry.
