Softball to Host Holy Innocents in GHSA Class-A Private Sweet 16 on Oct 19-20

MACON, Ga. – The FPD varsity softball team (25-4) will host the Holy Innocents Episcopal Lady Golden Bears (12-12) in a best-of-three game series in the GHSA Class-A Private State Softball Tournament on Wednesday-Thursday, Oct. 19-20, at the FPD Softball Complex.

The first two games will be played on Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Game One is scheduled for 2 p.m. and Game Two is slated for a 4 p.m. start.

If necessary, Game Three will be played on Thursday, Oct. 20, at a time to be determined.

FPD earned a bye in the first round of the 2016 Class-A Private State Tournament as the no. 3 seed.

The Lady Golden Bears, the no. 14 seed, knocked off no. 19 seeded Mount Vernon in two games on Wednesday, Oct 12 with scores of 13-10 and 10-0.

Holy Innocents is a member of GHSA Class-A Region 5.

The playoff series will mark the first time Holy Innocents and FPD have met in fast-pitch program history.

Only GHSA coaching passes and valid media credentials will be allowed for entry. All spectators must pay the gate fee.
