Lady Vikings Hold Off Westside Lady Seminoles 33-32

MACON, Ga. – The FPD varsity girls basketball team (2-1) pushed their winning streak to two games on Tuesday night, Nov. 29, holding off the Class 3A Westside High School Lady Seminoles (0-1) 33-32 in non-region play on the road.

Kate Patterson paced FPD with a 17 point, 11 rebound double-double.

A low scoring contest, the Lady Vikings led 6-4 at the end of the first quarter and 17-12 at halftime.

The Lady Vikings outscored the Lady Seminoles 10-9 in the third frame to take a 27-21 lead heading into the fourth frame.

FPD held off an 11-6 run by Westside in the final quarter to take the win.

NiAira Dawson and Jaliyah Spencer paced the Westside scoring attack with nine and eight points, respectively.

The Lady Vikings were aggressive on the boards all game, corralling 40 as a team.

Bailey Ruble and Sadie Frame claimed nine and eight boards, respectively.

With the win, the Lady Vikings have now won two straight after dropping its season opener last Monday, Nov. 21, to Carver (Atlanta).

The Lady Vikings are back in action on Friday, Dec. 2, hosting the Mount Pisgah Lady Patriots on Friday, Dec. 2, at 6:30 p.m. for the 2016-17 home opener at the Middlebrooks Athletic Center.
