Basketball Releases Region 7, 1A Tournament Information

MACON, Ga. – The FPD varsity basketball program has released information on the GHSA Class-A Region 7 Basketball Tournament, scheduled for Tuesday-Wednesday, Feb. 7-8, and Friday-Saturday, Feb. 10-11.

The girls tournament will be hosted by Stratford Academy in Macon.

The Eaglettes, who were tied with the Lady Vikings for first place, won the tiebreaker by percentage points.

The Lady Vikings, the no. 2 seed from the west division, will take on GMC Prep, no. 3 in the east, on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 5:30 p.m. in the opening round of the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Vikings, also the no. 2 seed from the western division, travel to Augusta, Ga. for the first round of the Region-7 Tournament at Aquinas.

FPD will battle Greene County, the no. 3 seed from the eastern division, at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at Aquinas High School in Augusta.

If the Lady Vikings and Vikings win their opening round first game of the Region-7 Tournament, both squads will compete at Stratford Academy in the semifinals and finals on Feb. 10-11.
