Prince Avenue Knocks Out Lady Vikings in GHSA Class-A Private Sweet 16

MACON, Ga. – The FPD varsity girls basketball team (18-7) saw its season come to a close on Wednesday night, Feb. 22, falling to the Prince Avenue Lady Wolverines (21-7) 47-32 in the Sweet 16 round of the GHSA Class-A Private Girls Basketball State Tournament at Coach Mac’s Court at the Middlebrooks Athletic Center.

Ansley Hall led the Lady Wolverine charge with a game-high 28 points en route to the victory. Madison Britt chipped in with eight points as well.

No. 10 seeded Prince Avenue advances to the Elite Eight to take on no. 2 seeded Wesleyan, who defeated George Walton on Wednesday night.

The Lady Vikings led 13-11 at the end of the first quarter, but couldn’t get into an offensive rhythm the rest of the contest.

The Lady Vikings went 4-for-19 from the field in the second half and were out-rebounded 20-10 over the final two frames.

The Lady Wolverines limited FPD to single digits in the final three quarters and finished on a 36-19 run.

Bailey Ruble paced the Lady Vikings with 12 points, including three made 3-pointers.

Kate Patterson totaled eight while Emma Lako netted five points.

Patterson finishes her Lady Viking career with 1,231 points, good for fourth place on the all-time scoring list in program history.

Ruble finished with 45 made 3-pointers in her senior campaign to move into third place in 3-pointers made. She also ranks in the top three in career 3-pointers in program history.
