FPD to Host Youth Baseball Night on Friday, March 17

MACON, Ga. – The FPD Athletic Department and Athletic Director Greg Moore is pleased to announce the hosting of Youth Baseball Night on Friday, March 17, during the FPD vs. Mount de Sales baseball game at Ben Harden Memorial Field.

All little league participants in uniform will be admitted for free and will enjoy a night of fun on and off the field beginning at 7 p.m.

“We’re excited to host all players involved in youth baseball in the middle Georgia area,” Moore said. “Youth baseball is a big deal in our community and we know that having the players and their families on campus will make for a great night of memories and family fun.”

Youngsters will participate in various games upon random selection throughout the night.

Games will be held at the top of innings two through sixth and will include a t-shirt catch in center field, the dizzy-izzy bat race, pitching into a net, a home run derby and much more.

Kids will also run out to take the field with the Vikings at each position during the National Anthem at the beginning of the contest.

Admission for parents is $5 at the gate.

“Our team and school are proud to welcome all involved in youth baseball in our area,” FPD head baseball coach Denny Bryant said. “We know it will be a special night on our campus and we are excited to reward all the hard work these young athletes put in during the youth baseball season.”

The First Presbyterian Day School Department of Athletics strives to build the student athlete both in the playing arena and the classroom while upholding the school’s mission statement to educate and equip students to change the world for God’s glory.
