Girls Soccer Blanks Putnam County 10-0 in Viking Cup

MACON, Ga. – The FPD varsity girls soccer team (4-0) kept its winning streak intact on Wednesday night, shutting out the Putnam County Lady Eagles 10-0 in day two of the 2017 girls Viking Cup at the Girardeau Field House at the FPD Soccer Complex.

FPD has yet to allow a goal in the 2017 campaign and has outscored opponents 39-0 in four matches played.

Jansyn Samples, Kate Patterson and Emma Lako each netted two goals in the victory.

Karsten Herron, Elizabeth Nelson, Gracie Matthews and Molly Lee also had one goal.

Herron led the team with two assists while Lako, Nelson, Samples, Matthews and Alyssa Dubose totaled one assist.

FPD out-shot Putnam County 22-1.

The Lady Vikings will go for the Viking Cup championship on Friday, March 3, taking on the Howard High School Lady Huskies.

Opening kick is set for 5:30 p.m. at the FPD Soccer Complex.
