Baseball Qualifies for GHSA Class-A Private State Tournament

MACON, Ga. – The FPD varsity baseball team has qualified for the GHSA Class-A Private State Tournament, announced Tuesday afternoon, April 26, by the GHSA.

The Vikings will travel to Calvary Day School in Savannah, Ga. on Friday, April 28, for a best-of-three game series.

Game 1 will be Friday, April 28, at 1 p.m. followed by Game 2 at 4 p.m.

If necessary, Game 3 of the series will be played on Saturday, April 29, at a time to be determined.

The Vikings (12-12) are the no. 19 seed in the 24-team bracket while Calvary (17-9) is the no. 14 seed.

Calvary leads the all-time series against FPD 2-1.

The two squads met in the 2012 GHSA Class-A Private State Tournament, with the Vikings winning the opening game 9-3 before dropping the final two contests 13-3 and 7-6.
