Girls Soccer Advances to Class-A Sweet 16 with 3-0 Shutout Against Strong Rock

MACON, Ga. – The streak continues for the FPD varsity girls soccer team.

The Lady Vikings (19-0) remained unbeaten at the conclusion on Tuesday’s first round GHSA Class-A State Tournament match against the Strong Rock Christian School Lady Patriots with a 3-0 victory at the FPD Soccer Complex.

FPD spread out the offense, with goals coming from Kate Patterson, Elizabeth Nelson and Molly Lee.

Emma Lako assisted on two of FPD’s scores as well.

The Lady Vikings controlled the tempo of the match with ease, out-shooting the Lady Patriots 52-0 in the match.

Strong Rock goalie Lydia Goffi picked up 24 saves in the net for the Lady Patriots.

The Lady Vikings advance to the Class-A Sweet 16, scheduled for next Tuesday, May 2.

FPD will host Lakeview Academy, the no. 2 seed from Area-8, to the FPD Soccer Complex at a time to be determined.

Lakeview defeated Mt. Vernon 7-4 in the opening round.
