FPD Names Ryan Kelly as New Lacrosse Coach

FPD has named Ryan Kelly as FPD’s new varsity lacrosse coach. Kelly comes to FPD with a great deal of lacrosse experience, previously serving as an Assistant Coach for the men’s lacrosse program at Asbury University in Kentucky.

“We are excited to see Ryan take the lead of our growing lacrosse program,” comments FPD Athletic Director, Greg Moore. “Ryan brings a wealth of knowledge for the sport and a passion for coaching.”

Kelly played lacrosse at the college level for the University of Kentucky before graduating with a Bachelors Degree in kinesiology. He has also served as the Head Lacrosse Coach for Lafayette High School in Lexington, Kentucky.

“I have gained a lot of knowledge playing and coaching high school and college lacrosse,” comments Kelly. “I intend to use these experiences and connections to provide more opportunities for my players. My background with Christian schools will also help me impact these young men for Christ.”

The 2017-18 academic year will be the second season for FPD’s varsity lacrosse program, previously a junior varsity sport since 2015.

“In its first full season as a varsity sport, our lacrosse team gained some valuable experience,” commented Moore. “We’re excited to see where this program will go under the direction of Coach Kelly.”
