FPD Athletics Best Private School Program In Middle Georgia Again

 

For the second year in a row FPD Athletics is the top private school athletic program in Middle Georgia and one of the top athletics programs overall regardless of classification in Middle Georgia again for the 2018-2019 school year.

 

The athletic program had 14 sports score points in the Regions Bank Directors Cup which is given out annually by the Georgia Athletic Director’s Association. The purpose of the Regions Bank Directors Cup is to recognize those athletic departments in all GHSA classifications who have excelled and shown superior performance.

 

The FPD Athletic Program was first in region 7A and seventh overall in Class-A Private with 724 points.

 

The Vikings had 8 boys sports earn points toward the Regions Bank Directors Cup – Golf (75pts), Track (63pts), Tennis (53pts), Baseball (53pts), Cross Country (45pts), Lacrosse (25pts), Wrestling (18pts) and swimming (16pts). As a group they finished first for Region 7A Boys.

 

The Lady Vikings had six girls sports earn points toward the Regions Bank Directors Cup – Softball (83pts), Tennis (83pts), Cheerleading (72pts), Soccer (70pts), Golf (54pts) and swimming (14pts). As a group they were tops among the private schools in region 7A.

 

“Being ranked in the top 10 state wide and number one overall amongst Middle Georgia private schools is a tremendous accomplishment. I am really proud of our student athletes and coaches for their hard work and dedication. I know all of Viking Nation joins me in celebrating this great honor,” said Athletic Director Greg Moore.
